Rev. Dr. James M. Dunn

Adjunct Professor of Christianity and Public Policy at the Divinity School at Wake Forest University, Rev. Dr. James M. Dunn is the former director of the Baptist Joint Committee on Public Affairs, for which he continues to serve as president of its endowment. The Baptist Joint Committee deals with issues of religious liberty and separation of church and state for fourteen Baptist conventions and conferences in the United States as well as for several hundred churches.

Rev. Dunn has served as a pastor, campus minister, and college professor, and for twelve years he was executive director of the Christian Life Commission, the social action agency of Texas Baptists. He is past president of Bread for the World, a former chair of the Ethics Commission of the Baptist World Alliance, and is currently on the boards of the Churches Center for Theology and Public Policy and of Religion and Ethics Newsweekly.

Dr. Dunn received a B.A. from Texas Wesleyan College, Master of Divinity and Ph.D. degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, an LL.D. from Alderson Broaddus College at William Jewel College, and a D.D. from Central Baptist Theological Seminary at Furman University. He has appeared on news programs of all the major television networks, has been a frequent guest on television documentaries, and is a contributor to TomPaine.com, an internet magazine.
